•4 tsp garlic powder
•3/4 tsp cumin
•bell peppers
•1 small white onion
•3 garlic cloves
•1.5 cups cooked chickpeas
•1/3 cup cooked quinoa
•chickpea flour
•spring water
•jerk sauce
Instructions:
- Dice your white onion, garlic cloves, and bell peppers.
- Add diced veggies to a food processor along with cooked chickpeas and cooked quinoa.
- Add your spices to the food processor.
- Process the food until the consistency is mushy.
- Transfer mixture to a large bowl.
- Add a dash of spring water and chickpea flour. Mix with your hands. Keep adding chickpea flour until the consistency is sticky.
- Once sticky, take a handful of the mixture and roll it into a ball with your hands. Flatten the ball to make your burger patties.
- Sautee your burger patties with grapeseed or avocado oil. It is recommended that you only sautee what will be eaten that day, and refrigerate and/or freeze the rest to prevent the burgers from drying out.
- Top with jerk sauce, fresh greens, other veggies/condiments of your choice, and hamburger buns.
- Enjoy :)
Feel free to customize the recipe to your liking😇you could also use this method to make lentil burgers, black bean burgers, or burgers with any other type of bean/legume. More plant based substitutions for meat can be found in the “Plant Based Eating for Beginners” E book.
